Paul Macht, AIA
Paul founded Paul Macht Architects in 1990 with an environmentally sensitive emphasis for custom residential design. Prior to founding the firm, from 1979-1989 Paul designed passive solar homes and managed larger institutional, commercial and pharmaceutical projects. Paul is president of Earthright and a board member of Abington Art Center and the Rydal Meadowbrook Civic Association. Paul received his Master"s in architecture in 1979 from Princeton University and his Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University. Paul is licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York.
Peggy Hoffart, RA
Peggy Hoffart received her Masters degree in architecture in 1980 from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College. She has been practicing architecture since 1980 and licensed since 1982. Peggy has been with Paul Macht Architects since 2002, and currently works as a principal and project manager for the firm. At Paul Macht Architects, she has served as project manager for more than 25 projects including three new houses on the Chesapeake Bay, numerous residential additions, and several medical offices. Peggy currently sits on the board of the Jenkintown Community Alliance as Design Chair.
Associate, Project Manager/Designer
Jean has been with the firm since 1992 when she retired from Montgomery County Community College as an Associate Professor & Dean of the Social Science Division. A life long interest in architecture and interior design led her to a second career with the firm. Having been involved in almost all aspects of the office, Jean has provided not only marketing and design services, but also project management of dozens of home renovations, additions, and new residences. Jean"s special interest and contribution to the firm include kitchen and bath design and remodeling as well as interior design services. Jean earned a Masters in Psychology from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts from Arcadia College, Glenside, Pennsylvania.
David Daniels, AIA
While at Paul Macht Architects, David has served as project architect on new residences and addition/renovation projects. He brings to the firm an expertise in using 3-dimensional computer modeling as a design and documentation tool. Prior to Macht Architects he served 4 years as project designer at Susan Maxman and Partners where he acquired sensitivity to sustainable design issues in institutional scale buildings. It was the desire to understand energy efficiency and sustainability at the residential scale that led him to Paul Macht Architects. David earned a Masters in Architecture in 1998 from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1993 from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
Andrew Kraetzer, RA
Project Manager, Director of Marketing
Andrew Kraetzer serves as project manager and the firm's marketing director. As an architect, he has twelve years experience working with large institutions and homeowners alike to plan and execute master plans and award winning buildings. His architectural portfolio includes mid-century modern residential renovations, a performing arts center and several education, recreation, and healthcare projects. While at Paul Macht Architects, Andrew has managed the design, documentation and construction observation on several new homes and additions. Andrew earned his Masters in Architecture from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont.
Alain earned his architectural degree from Toulouse School of Architecture (France) in 2001 and Masters Degree in Architecture with an emphasis in digital design and computer visualization from Mississippi State University (USA) in 2003. He joined Paul Macht Architects in 2003 and has been involved in the design and documentation of a wide array of projects including residential, commercial and medical facilities.
Alain brings to the firms a real expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and experience in green design, energy efficiency and indoor air quality. He has competency implementing new homes, additions and renovations. Prior to Paul Macht Architects, Alain worked for Alain Coulon & Associates (Coursan, France), Marc Tomasin & Associates (Samatan, France) and Philippe Marraud & Associates (Agen, France). He worked as field architect for the National School of Penitentiary Administration. a 140,000 sq. ft. facility in Agen, France.
His environmental consciousness led him to join Earthright, a local non-profit organization based in Montgomery County, whose purpose is to educate, support and organize individuals, organizations and corporations to promote a sustainable development.
